a recently carved banana

Tonight I read Vonnegut, suprised as always to find out that some of my heros have stolen or borrowed from some of their heros. I shouldn't imply that malice is involved. Merely tribute. Emulation and compliments.

I too have found a gem in the pages which I found terribly, terribly amusing. It regards what one character in Slaughterhouse Five remarked about the protagonist, which is: "I could carve a better man out of a banana".

To me this phrase is so incredibly true and funny that it rings my head like a heavy bell. I am glad I have remembered that nothing is very important, except being good, and having fun.

I am a very contented banana.
